Job Opening: Chinese/English Translators

Due to the fast growth of our business and clientele, we are in need of the professional services of Chinese/English Translators. The translators will deal with the translation needs of our individuals and business clients located in both China and the U.S. More than 90% of our clients are Chinese individuals or companies doing business in the U.S., so more and more documents that we handle need to be translated from Chinese to English and vice versa. Also, business and legal translations carry strict deadlines. When the translated documents are needed particularly for business transactions, a delay might cost significant monetary loss for our client. The translators must have high degree of sensitivity, understanding and sophistication to make the documents deliver the precise message intended and convey the exact meaning by the choice of economic terms. Furthermore, as many of the translation documents are private placement offering documents, acquisition contracts, business negotiations, and business transactions, the translators need to possess theoretical and practical knowledge in legal business and economics fields. Therefore, we need translators with English/Chinese proficiency and knowledge of business, financial, and legal terminologies in both Chinese and English.

Specifically, the hired individuals will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Provide full English translations of current Chinese client’s documents from Chinese to English for L1, EB1C, EB5, I-924, EB1A, O1, and any other immigration cases submitted to USCIS;
  • Translate Chinese clients’ financial statements, marketing reports, credit reports, business formation documents, business transactions, SOF, PPM, and other documentation into English;
  • Proofread and edit translations of contract, invoices and other business documents in Chinese and English, and make sure all translations are in accordance with the economic interpretations and business cultures of China and United States;
  • Check translations of business terms and terminology to ensure that they are accurate and remain consistent throughout translation revisions of business, financial, and legal documents between Chinese Companies and their U.S. parent, subsidiary, or affiliated company;
  • Prepare, proofread and edit translations of purchase documents, mergers & acquisition documents, financial reports, invoices and any other business and financial documents in English and Chinese;
  • Completely understand and precisely translate the whole set of offering documents, including the economic forecasts for EB-5 Regional Centers from English to Chinese;
  • Check original texts or confer with authors to ensure that translations retain the content, meaning, and feeling of the original material;
  • Translate accreditation questionnaires, L1 questionnaires, EB5 investor background questionnaires to obtain prompt and consistent information from clients;
  • Accurately and precisely translate from Chinese to English all purchase orders, legal contracts, service agreements, and other important business transactional documents necessary for our immigration cases;
  • Participate in overseas video conferences, and simultaneously or consecutively translate and clarify specific requests from clients including service instructions, financial and business documents, invoices, deal negotiations and related business information;
  • Translate and clarify the specific instruction and explanation regarding financial reporting obligations, contents on immigration forms, signatory instructions, and process overview;
  • Provide interpretation/interpretation services for Client’s visa interview or immigration interview and court proceedings;
  • Identify and explain differences and conflicts related to the meanings of legal and economic terminologies, words, concepts, and general practices with good sentence structure, syntax and word selection.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics
  • Tested proficiency in both Chinese and English (oral and written)
  • Familiar with Chinese and U.S culture and be able to apply these knowledge to complicated translation works
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills, including excel and word processing
